Center-based ABA Services

Behavior management tries to reinforce wanted behaviors and reduce unwanted ones. At Momentum we aim to figure out why a child engages in a particular problem behavior, then change the environmental variables and teach skills that make a correct behavior more valuable for the child.

Verbal Behavior therapy teaches language and communication. It is based on the principles of ABA and the theories of B.F.Skinner. 

At Momentum we assess the child's VB level then tailor their program to help them communicate either vocally, through PECS or through an AAC device.

Children with Autism have noticeable social skill deficits, that impact behavior, communication and social interactions.

At Momentum we work on boosting social skills by offering praise and reinforcement for prosocial behavior and modelling and highlighting desired and accepted social behaviors through role play and other techniques.

Play is an important foundation for learning. At Momentum we help your child learn how to use toys in a functional way that develops imagination, problem solving and creative skills. Play also helps in developing motor skills as well as teaching to share, take turns, and communicating 

Our ultimate goal is to help our children become independent. This is why at Momentum we work on teaching self help skills like dressing, brushing teeth, eating, cleaning up and many more.

Children with Autism do not naturally develop skills required for learning. They need to learn "how to learn". At Momentum, we help children gain preacademic/learning readiness skills such as attending, completing a task, following basic instructions as well as turn taking and waiting .
